Every September 29, coffee lovers across the country celebrate National Coffee Day, a time to honor the drink that fuels mornings, inspires connection, and strengthens communities. At Blue House Coffee Roasters, coffee is more than what’s in your cup. It is our craft, our passion, and our community.
We have stayed hands on at every step, from where our coffee grows to the moment it arrives in your hands, to ensure every sip reflects the care behind it.
Our Origin Story
Our journey began in 2012 in Flagstaff, Arizona. We roasted coffee out of a small building known as the “Blue House.” With a bicycle cart that brewed and served cold brew, we brought coffee to life on ASU’s campus in Tempe. An Edson Entrepreneurial grant helped us build relationships with coffee farmers and expand our mobile operations, which led us to weekend markets across the Valley.
In 2018, we opened our first café at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus. By 2020, we adapted to new challenges and grew our online store so people could order beans and enjoy Blue House Coffee at home. Today, we continue to roast and ship fresh beans for customers who want to experience local coffee beyond the markets.
Sourcing, Roasting, Serving
Our commitment to quality and connection spans every stage:
We grow beans at our farm in Costa Rica and source coffee from more than 18 countries, including Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Mexico.
We roast in small batches in downtown Phoenix to bring out nuanced flavors and highlight the unique qualities of each origin.
We serve our community through farmers market pop-ups, our Mobile Beverage Bar for weddings, parties, and business events, and cold brew on tap systems for homes and workplaces across Arizona.
