Cascara Simple Syrup

A refreshing Cascara Pellegrino with fresh cut lemon.

Ingredients

Instructions:

Place ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir to ensure sugar dissolves.

  1. Remove saucepan from heat and allow syrup to cool a little bit.

  2. Filter out the coffee cherries using a strainer.

  3. Store in your favorite jar. See recipes below and mix into your favorite beverage. Enjoy!

Cascara: Dried Coffee Cherry for Tea

Cascara is a coffee cherry tea made from the dried berries of the coffee plant. It is filled with natural sugars, vitamins, oils, and anti-oxidants that come from the skin and pulp of the cherry.

Instructions:

Hot Brew:

1.) Add 0.5 oz (15g) of Cascara to 10oz (0.3 L) of 200F water.
2.) Steep for 6 minutes.
3.) Strain and enjoy!

Iced Cascara Tea:

1.) Use 1 oz (30 g) of cascara for every 10 oz (0.3 L) of cold water.
2.) Place tea in water and let stand in the fridge for 24 hours.
3.) Strain and enjoy!
