Located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, in the Historic Garfield District,

we currently represent coffees from over 18 countries.

Thriving communities and thriving environments are important to us -

which is why we’re on our way to becoming a carbon-neutral company in 2021.

It’s also why we travel to origin, purchasing over 50% of our product directly from farmers, to learn about growing methods and build long lasting connections.

Early Days

Blue House Coffee began in Flagstaff, Arizona in 2012, where we roasted out of the notorious “Blue House.” We moved to Tempe, home of Arizona State University, where our goal was to transform empty street corners into social hubs, with coffee being the conversation starter - and so our dream launched with a 400-pound coffee and cold-brew serving bicycle. While at ASU, we secured an Edson Entrepreneurial grant to establish relationships with coffee farmers and create more mobile coffee carts — now currently in residence at open air farmers markets around the valley.

In 2018, we secured our first café location at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus in Downtown Phoenix. Mid 2020, our business re-structured amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic, to include a Subscriptions platform. We now ship our small-batch roasted coffee beans - nationwide and deliver our cold-brew, locally, contact-free, straight to your doorstep.

For Blue House, the coffee business is a vehicle to improve our community and connect with others, both next door and around the world.

We Source.

We travel to origin and buy 50% of our coffee directly from farmers. Coffee is a story and getting to know our coffee producers is the first step. Origins rotate based on Seasonality - with coffee represented from over 18 countries and counting!

We Roast.

We hand roast our coffee beans, in small-batches, to bring nuanced flavors to life. There are over 1500 aromatic or flavor producing compounds in coffee, and accentuating these flavors is our main goal in this process.

We Value The Environment.

As a company, we have made it a priority to become carbon neutral by 2021. Our roasting facility powered by solar panels.

All carbon involved with packaging, shipping and roasting is offset via tree planting and carbon capture.

  • Partners include TreesMatter and TerraPass.

  • Compostable coffee packaging and milk-man style bottle exchange, reducing waste and landfill space - without compromising quality..

  • Current roasting facility is powered by solar panels, with an electric delivery vehicle, and a garden plot nourished from up-cycled coffee grounds.

We Innovate.

Using nitrogen pressurization, we were the first coffee company in Arizona to serve cold-brew coffee on tap via kegs. We continue to adapt and innovate in this realm, sharing at open air-farmers markets around the valley — in addition to local restaurants, beverage programs, and a Cold-Brew home subscription service.
